Congratulations! You've Made It!
You are finally reaching that moment you've imagined: walking across that stage!
All of the hours, sleepless nights, long papers, thesis projects - they are through!
Now you get to step in front of my camera and let me capture what great achievements you have. Let's grab the cap and go!
1. Choose Your Campus Spots
You have spent four or so years at this place and you know what spots will mean the most as you look back on your time.
Maybe it's the quad where you spent so many afternoons with dear friends.
Perhaps it's the building you studied late nights and worked so hard in. It could be your favorite building on campus where you loved to spend time alone. Or even a huge landmark for your university or school.
Make a list of the top three and let me know!
We will study the best times to shoot there as we want the sun to work with us, not against.
The worst thing is when your must-go spot is in the full sun. You're squinting your eyes and your face has 100 shadows that do not flatter you. We want the sun up and behind or to the side of you so you hair and face have a lovely glow to them.
2. Start With A Blank Slate
A white dress or button down is my personal recommendation! No matter your school colors, these will blend with your cap, gown, and flatter your face the best. There are so many colors involved in your accessories and it can create a perfected classic look if you remain timeless in your outfit choices.
If you are doing this session with friends, this is also a perfect way to tie it all together.
We want to see your faces shine in the group, not the crazy colors of your dress.
3. Bring Your Cap, Gown, And Any Accessories
You may have seen the millions of cheesy graduation photos that have you cringing and wanting to keep away from, but trust me. There are right and wrong ways to use these props. Graduation photos are meant to be a time capsule for this moment you've worked so hard for. Let me guide you and we will use these pieces to your advantage!
4. Champagne Spray All The Way!
Let's gooooooo! Let's celebrate! I personally love a champagne spray because it brings the hoot and holler of the day to your session. It will be the last thing we do and it can truly let you enjoy the screaming "I DID IT" feeling. I recommend one bottle per person in your session so we can really live it up.
5. Bring A Friend Along
You are the most yourself around your favorite people. If you're doing a session by yourself, bring that best friend along to help you relax and make your smiles the most true. If you have a significant other, tell them to come and encourage you all the way through! Even if they are behind the camera with me, having a familiar presence can make a big difference in your natural smiles. It can be even better to bring other friends to share your session with! I have a Seniors Bundle for this very reason. Bring your village and we will capture you all together and as individuals celebrating this incredible season of your lives.
And there you have it! Let me take the rest of the stress. You get to relax now and if you trust me, magic will happen!
