There’s something sacred about photographing a family in their own home during the newborn days. The space where sleepless nights meet slow mornings. Where everything feels tender, new, and deeply real.


This in-home newborn session with baby Hudson was Part Two of Iris and Matt’s Keepsake Collection — and it couldn’t have been more special.


We met at their home in the Ardmore neighborhood of Winston-Salem, just weeks after Hudson was born. Their home felt warm and calm, filled with fresh baby energy and the quiet rhythm of new parenthood. Their two beloved dogs curled up nearby, curious and gentle, making their way into a few frames as only family pets do — effortlessly.


Hudson’s nursery was the heart of the session, softly lit and lovingly styled — the perfect backdrop for capturing his tiny features and the way Iris and Matt have so naturally stepped into parenthood.


Partway through, we welcomed Iris’s parents for an extended session — a heartfelt addition that allowed us to capture three generations together. Grandparents holding their first grandchild, the joy in their eyes, the pride in their smiles — it was a beautiful reminder that these photographs aren’t just about babies. They’re about family, legacy, and remembering where love begins.


This session wasn’t styled or posed in excess. It was simple, intentional, and full of meaning — a chapter in their story that they’ll be able to revisit for years to come. A moment to remember the home that first held them all.
