Everly's Classic Heirlooms

Annie Lievens Photography

Four years old feels like a turning point — still full of wonder and innocence, but with a mind that's suddenly asking bigger questions, noticing more, becoming herself in the most vivid ways.

This is Everly — my daughter. At age four, she is bold and beautiful, inquisitive and imaginative, and growing so quickly that sometimes I wish I could press pause. She changes so much every year, and this stage — this sweet, curious, radiant season — has been one of our very favorites.

Her Classic Heirloom session in our studio was something I knew I wanted to do just for her. Blonde curls, wide eyes, and that light she brings into every room — she absolutely lit up in front of the camera. She felt special, seen, and proud to be the one in front of mama’s lens.

And the best part? Now she sees her portrait hanging in our home — and she knows it matters. She sees herself celebrated. Cherished. Treasured.

Heirloom Portraits Aren’t Just for Us — They’re for Them, Too

As parents, we often think about portraits as something we’ll look back on one day. And of course, that’s true. But I also believe these photos are for our children, too.

They’re for the little girl who walks past her framed portrait and says, “That’s me.”

For the moments she asks, “Was I always that small?” or “What was I like when I was 4?”

For the reminder that she has always been loved, deeply and intentionally.

Heirloom portraiture is about honoring childhood — and giving our children the gift of seeing just how much they mean to us.

If you’re waiting for the “perfect time,” let this be your gentle nudge — this is the time.

Not because your child sits still or smiles just right, but because they’re changing with every passing season.

You’ll never regret capturing them as they are right now — and they’ll never forget

seeing themselves treasured on your walls.
