Every time I photograph someone else’s child, I think about how quickly this season slips away — the softness, the curiosity, the fleeting in-between of baby and boy. And now, with my own son at 2 years old, I finally got the chance to step into the frame as a mother myself — to capture his essence in the way I’ve always dreamed of.

This is Teddy.

My blonde-haired, bright-eyed, endlessly sweet little boy. He’s soft and snuggly, yes, but each day I see more of his personality unfolding — his independence, his little jokes, the way he looks right at me with that “I know what I’m doing” smirk. He’s gentle and observant. A perfect little gentleman.

Photographing Teddy’s Classic Heirloom Portrait Session in my studio was both simple and deeply emotional. I’ve imagined this moment — capturing him in this exact season of life — and creating something timeless that we could hang in our dining room. Something that won’t fade as the days go on. A way to remember him just like this.
