Halfway to One, Full of Joy

On May 28, 2025, I had the joy of photographing Hudson for the third time in his first year of life—part of the Keepsake Collection we’ve been creating together. From his very first days in a maternity belly, to his sweet newborn stage, and now, at six months old, every session tells another chapter of his story.


For this milestone session, his mom had a fun twist in mind—a “half cake” smash to mark the halfway point to his first birthday. The first half of our time together was dedicated to classic portraits: Hudson’s bright eyes, his gummy grin, the way he reached for his parents with little chubby hands. Then, came the cake. Frosting-covered fingers, wide-eyed curiosity, and just a little bit of mess made for the perfect ending to the session.


There’s something special about six months—it’s a season of discovery. Babies are learning to sit, laugh, and interact in new ways. You can feel their personalities starting to shine through, and Hudson’s joyful spirit was front and center.


The Keepsake Collection is one of my favorite ways to work with families because it allows us to tell a complete story. With Hudson, we’re not just capturing moments; we’re creating a timeline of love, growth, and connection that he’ll one day be able to look back on. I can’t wait for his one-year session—cake smash included!
