You are amazing!
Before we get on to the details, I just want to remind you....
You are doing great.
You may still be pregnant, supporting a partner, expecting a baby any day, or you have just held you little one for the first time and are dreaming about wanting to still kiss their fingers and toes for the rest of their life.
No matter your circumstance, you are exactly where you need to be. The next parts will come one step at a time and that is why I am here to help you with them. I have pushed out two babies of my own so I know how you may be feeling. Let me hold your hand as you prepare to invite me into your home so we can remember exactly what it feels like.
Here are some quick tips when preparing for your in-home Newborn Photography session.
- Set thermostat to 78 or above
- Feed baby within 30 minutes of our start time
- Have a pacifier readily available
- Clear any clutter in nursery and master bedroom
- Open all blinds in those same rooms
- Please remove any crib bumpers
In this simple time of new life, it is important to remember that we want to capture that freshness - the touches, the smells, the simplicity.
It is so helpful for parents and siblings wear light, neutral clothing. We want to focus on your faces as you behold one another rather than be distracted by visual color blocking or darkness.
Multiple breaks for feeding and comforting baby are normal and expected. Babies are babies and we aren't going to expect them to behave like grown people. If they want a milk break, they get one!
Please don't worry as the session unfolds as we will take it step by step and follow baby's lead. If they are doing great being held, we will start with those poses. If baby is happily asleep on the bed, I can go straight to working my magic on their little details. If baby poops through the outfit you chose, we will take an opportunity for tiny bottoms and naked bellies.
You are amazing parents already and I can't wait to meet you and your new baby!

Thank you for spending time here!
