Joy in a Season of Boys


On August 20, 2025, I joined the Maxey family at Stratford Road Park in Winston Salem for their maternity session.

With a third little boy on the way, Kelly wanted portraits that captured the joy, energy, and adventure of life as a boy mom.


The location was new for me—a charming local park that turned out to be perfect for families with little ones.

The boys ran, laughed, and played while we captured a mix of candid and posed portraits that reflected the real heart of their family.


Kelly is also the founder of The Mom League, a local organization now franchising across the Carolinas that helps new moms find support, connection, and encouragement. Her heart for motherhood shined through in every frame.


Photographing families with young children is never about perfection—it’s about joy.

The Maxeys’ session was a celebration of movement, energy, and love, honoring this season before their family of four becomes five.
